Marta Gaggi
Graphic designer with a strong Romagna soul based in Milan.
I just came back from São Paulo (Brasil) where I worked for Tereza Bettinardi, and did some courses at FAU-Usp.
I've been also in Paris for six months for an erasmus in École Boulle. I really like Paris. I'm also into publishing and bookshops,
— I have my little independent photography magazine —, cooking and restaurants, funk music and parties where you get tired dancing.

Let them eat Blue Crab is a data driven project that explores the Blue Crab overpopulation
phenomenon and its impact as reflected on Facebook comments.
The analysis is based on comments from 19 Facebook posts from news outlets,
proposing solutions to the blue crab invasion.
The project is composed of seven catalogs, each dedicated to a macro category
of solutions collected from Facebook comments.
All the comments comes from a dataset where each solution is linked to a problem, recurring themes are identified for each
category and the data is sorted by the number of likes.
Collection of strangers’ lines on a blank sheet
of paper. Draw a line from one side of the page to the other
is the instruction given to 100 passers-by invited to express
themselves on the surface. At the point where one line ends,
another is born - they are all connected - they are individual
expressions and a participatory work. To complete the book,
the owner of each copy is asked to draw their own line on the
cover, becoming part of the project.
Following Kandinsky’s theoretical analysis of the proto-elements of art,
the line possesses its own sonority. The book has a soundtrack that
can be listened on a website.
Participatory project that explores the subconscious of human behavior through a task:
transforming a piece of paper. Ten participants were asked, "How would you change this piece of paper?".
By documenting their processes, the transformed papers, and their reflections, is created a investivative-game interactive experience,
where the goal is to correctly connect the three pieces, scans, video frames and reflections, and discover Whot Did What?
The whole process is narrated in a documentary video that can be seen to understand the right connections - so guess the game solution -
The users feel the stories behind each transformation and explore how small actions mirror
deeper aspects of the human mind.
Visual identity for "Terremosse SesamxAmatrice", an event organized by EASA (Young Architecture Student Assembly) Italia Aps
aimed at students and young architects all over Europe. The goal of the event is to give concrete support to vulnerable
territories affected by sudden disasters. The initiative will be held in Amatrice
and will see the participation of 150 students and young professionals, who during two weeks of work will design and build,
together with the local community, interventions on the territory.
Little hand drawn partecipatory game ispired by my personal data collection of all the times that I forgot a password and I had to reset it.
Opening the sheet and turning it, people see a collection of illustrated objects: some are useful
(like money, packs, pencils ecc), while others are completely random or unnecessary. Each use ful object metaphorically represents
a service where I've forgotten my password at least once. For example, if I forgot my PayPal password 11 times,
people task will be to find 11 bribes of money among the other objects.
